Cast Alloy Wheel Repair
We provide a motorcycle cast wheel straightening service on all types of cast wheels. By using our unique wheel jig we can repair and retrue your cast wheels. The wheels are constantly checked during the procedure to achieve the highest degree of accuracy. We can repair and straighten almost all kinds of motorcycle wheels, both front and rear. Cast alloy wheels repaired to less than 0.5mm is what we aim to achieve. Running out of true, flat spots, dents, grazes and scuffs can be tig welded and refinished.
You can either bring us the complete cast wheel (with discs and tyre still on) and we will remove these before commencing with the repair. Alternatively, remove the tyre and brake discs yourself and just post the wheel to us. The turn around time by post is approximately 3 days and return P&P price is £15.00 for next day delivery.
Frame Straightening and Wheel Alignment
We also provide a frame jigging service whereby your motorcycle frame will be placed into our purpose built frame jig and moved back to its original position. This can be done either by bringing us the complete motorcycle which we will strip, repair and return to you, ready to ride. Or for a more cost effective option, you can remove any items that need to be removed yourself.
If your motorcycle feels as if it drops into a corner one way easier than the other, the first thing to check is your wheel alignment. We can check your wheelbase and advise accordingly.
Forks and Yokes
If after an impact or after jumping off the bike, your handle bars appear somewhat lop sided, you have more than likely twisted your yokes and maybe even put a small bend in the forks. Your bike will not feel the same as it did and it will need attention. We can check and if necessary straighten your forks and retrue your yokes. If you are unsure then please get in touch to discuss your problem.
Brake Discs
Floating brake discs are extremely strong in the direction of their rotation, however they are far from strong in a sideways direction. Bounce one off the side of the van while changing tyres and you could easily knock it out of true. Even putting the calipers back hand fistfully can bend them. Another common way to damage the discs is to forget to remove your disc lock.
An indication of a bent disc or discs can be felt by a pulsing of the brake lever.
In most cases these can all be retrued to within 0.05mm.
